Project Description

The part-time human resources generalist is responsible for assisting in the overall provision of human resources and services, policies and programs for the organization. This position is a non-supervisory non-exempt hands-on HR Generalist role. The ideal candidate will thrive in an interpersonal relationship environment with minimal supervision. 

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

Tracks and administers benefits information: leave of absences (Short Term Disability, Family Medical Leave); open enrollment process; 401(k) audits; serve as point-of-contact for employees and providers for all benefit-related questions and problem-resolution.

Maintains government requirements affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance: Affirmative Action Program; EEO-1; Affordable Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Administration; labor law postings; other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO and DOL regulations.

Consults with attorney, managers and internal/external foreign nationals on the company's visa/immigration process and policy to maintain compliance. Participates in the full life cycle recruiting process from job postings to interviewing, hiring and on-boarding of new employees.

Administers exit interviews. Responds to employment verification requests. Manages performance review cycles to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization. Interpret the employee handbook and apply policies and procedures; train staff on policies as necessary.

Ensures HR operations are handled in accordance with Federal, State and local guidelines. Maintains a compassionate and respectful environment by practicing good communication skills and maintaining confidentiality. Drafts and sends employee communications. Participates in the employee activities committee as needed. Provides front desk coverage for lunches and breaks. 

Requirements 

Bachelor's degree in human resource management and 4 years' progressive human resources experience. PHR/SPHR certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, HRIS (ADP preferred), ATS software
